2007 Harmonized Tariff Update

You should have recently received Administrative Message 07-0037 regarding the latest Harmonized System from ABI. This update (0703) includes changes to several hundred harmonized records.

Please note that several tariff numbers have changed as a result of the 3 updates that have been issued for this year. If you need more information to find a new classification number for your entries, visit the CBP website.

You should query this tariff update using the Harmonized Tariff Update selection using ABI's Reference Files query program. Most importantly, remember to check your messages periodically for additional changes to the file.

 

Better safe than sorry

You can never be too careful when it comes to backing up your data. Many of our customers have programs that automate the backup process. However this does not mean that you can simply forget about the status of your files. Many times, these automated programs fail or are not set up properly and the errors are only discovered after the data backup is needed.

To ensure you are covered, take five minutes today and make sure that your backup is up to date and error free. If you use Tapeware or another backup program, you can verify the status with just a few clicks. If we installed your server, we can help you learn how to do just that. Give us a call!

VPN/MQ Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing problems with your MQ communication, it is important to first determine whether the VPN is down in Customs. To do this, open a ticket with your ABI client rep. For after hours, you may call the VPN Networking team at (703) 921-6630.

CBP National Agriculture Release Program

The National Agriculture Release Program (NARP) began on January 8, 2007 to include some agricultural commodities to the Border Cargo Release program on the southern border. Under this program, commercial shipments in the same inspectional unit of commodities on the approved list for NARP will be inspected at reduced rates.
