Dominican Republic Eligible for CAFTA

Effective March 1, 2007, merchandise from the Dominican Republic that is entered or withdrawn from a warehouse for consumption is eligible for CAFTA benefits.

To process these entries:

1) Edit the country file: Go to Import Procedures, File Maintenance, Country/Port/Fees, Country Codes. Enter DO for the Country Code. The SPIC Codes and Dates should reflect the following:

E ending date 02/28/2007
A ending date 02/28/2007
R ending date 02/28/2007
P start date 03/01/2007 ending date 12/31/2099

2) Update the CAFTA table: Go to Resource Manager, Data file Maintenance, Tables. Entre IPTB for the Table File Name, and CAFTACTR for the Table ID. Enter DO and "Dominican Republic" on the last line, following the format of the lines preceding it.

Once you have completed these steps, the system will process the entry correctly. If you have already created the file, make sure to go back into the entry and set the Reduced MPF field to Y. Continue to <Page Down> through the entry for the system to pick up the changes.
