ABI Sets Deadline for Move to VPN/MQ

Attention customers still using a dial-up modem to communicate with ABI! ABI Administrative Message 07-0097 was sent out on 4/26 declaring that the 800 dial-up number you are currently using will no longer be in service effective September 30, 2007.

We have been working with all of our customers to get the switched over to the newer VPN/MQ protocol to send and receive information from ABI, but still have several customers using dial-up. If you have not made arrangements to change over already, please contact us as soon as possible to ensure you are compliant well in advance in the due date. Avoid the rush! Call us today.

San Diego Visit

ASCI representatives will be attending the MEXPORT conference on May 3 to promote our new E-Manifest program. We plan to visit our San Diego-area customers on Friday the 4th and will be calling you this week to coordinate our schedule. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Please Note:
Our office will be closed on May 28 for the Memorial Day weekend.

ABI Tariff Update

Please see ABI Administrative Message 07-0095 regarding the latest Harmonized System Update from Customs.

Make sure to query update number 0706 using the Harmonized Tariff Update selection of ABI's Reference Files query program. This update contains new requirements as determined by the Federal Communications Commission.

E-Manifest in Spanish

We are pleased to report that our E-Manifest program will soon be available in Spanish! Because many of the carriers who need this software come from Mexico, we have provided our program in Spanish to make data entry easier for them.

We have several users of our E-Manifest program along the Texas and California borders. They are pleased with our software and support. For our Customs Brokers clients, it has been a great way to expand their service offerings and increase their revenue as well. If you are interested in learning more about our program, please call us.

After Hours Contact for VPN/MQ

If you are experiencing problems with your MQ communication, it is important to first determine whether the VPN is down in Customs. To do this, open a ticket with your ABI client rep. For after hours, you may call the VPN Networking team at (703) 921-6630.

New Quotes Option

If you have been looking for a way to provide quotes for prospective shipments, ASCI of Miami can help. Our Quotes Procedures application is designed to help you provide detailed quotes to your customers. Best of all, when they do book the shipment through you, that information is transferred into your Import or Export applications, reducing the amount of information you have to enter to get that shipment or entry processed and billed.

This program is easy to use and is a great time-saver in helping you to generate more business and provide better service! Please call us for more information.
