You Asked, We Listened: The Simple Entry

If you use our Import programs, you probably use the Quick Entry to submit your Immediate Delivery and Entry Summary data to ABI. This program is comprised of 4 screens, each of which contain fields that may only be required for more complex entries. Some of our customers commented that the process could be simplified for entries requiring less information. In response to that suggestion, we created the Simple Entry program.

The Simple Entry was part of release 6.11 but we have found many customers who still don't know about it. It was designed to process entries that meet the following conditions:

• Entry Type 01 (Consumption)
• USD Currency
• One Invoice
• Same Port of Entry and Port of Unlading
• One Country of Origin, One Country of Export
• One tariff per line

This program contains only 2 screens, allowing you to save time and still meet ABI requirements. Next time you are processing an entry like the one described above, "simplify" your job by using the Simple Entry program, located in the Daily Work menu of Import Procedures.

Data Maintenance

You know how important it is to perform regular maintenance on your car to make sure it runs properly. It is equally important to maintain your data files so that you can access your information.

Our Maintenance programs not only clear out data you no longer need, but they "refresh" your files by scanning them for corrupted data or bad records.

Import/ABI: Use the Clear Printed Entries program to clean out old entries. Customs requires that you keep 5 years of entry data on file. The Purge Log Book program should also be used after clearing your entries.

Accounting: Use the Month-End Maintenance programs in A/P and A/R to keep your files up-do-date.

Export: Use the Clear Printed Forms and Purge Log Book programs to update your files.

 

New! Warehouse Scanner Option

ASCI has recently developed a new program that interfaces our Warehouse programs with Motorola/Symbol Scanner technology. This integration allows you to upload inventory information and create Warehouse Receipts via a wireless hand-held device. Just scan and transmit; your warehouse will be updated automatically!
