'Tis the Season
Another year has flown by, and we hope you are able to take some time out of this busy month to enjoy the holiday season. All set for 2008! Instructions for Closing out 2007...
Import Procedures:
Tariff File updates. You should have received message 07-0264 from ABI regarding tariff update #0708. This update contains the first of the 2008 tariffs, so make sure you create your Last-Year Tariff File before querying this update. If you don't want to perform these updates manually, you can purchase the latest file from ASCI for $60. For instructions on how to query the updates from ABI and set up Last Year files, go to http://www.asciofmiami.com/eoy-import-2007.pdf.*
ABI Federal Holidays: Message 07-0257 from ABI contains the 2008 Federal Holidays list that you need to enter in the Options and Interfaces program for ABI Procedures. These holidays are used in calculating the statement date for your entries, so it is important that you have the most current information on your system. Please note, however, that these changes should not be entered until after December 26. Click here for instructions.*
Accounting:
If your fiscal year is the same as the calendar year, then you'll need to close out the year after the end of December. Our system will allow you to maintain a file of last year's General Ledger to create adjusting entries and financial reports for 2007 as needed. For instructions, click here.*

Our office will close at noon on December 21st, and will re-open on Wednesday, December 26th.

If you are ordering any forms to use with our system, please make sure to order only from Apperson Business Forms. While forms from other vendors may look the same, the alignment is slightly different, and is not supported by ASCI software.
Still ANOTHER Message about 5106 Updates
An ABI Message sent out in September reports that addresses submitted with 5106 updates will only be accepted if they are valid according to the United States Postal Service. If you have problems submitting an address, check on the following websites to verify the information.
Line Release?
If you do line releases, please call our office for a program update related to ABI Administrative Message 07-0262. ABI has a new requirement for BRASS shipments effective December 15.
