Andean Treaty Renewal is Ready

ABI has confirmed that their system is ready to accept entries claiming "J" exemptions. To implement this change, go to Import Procedures, File Maintenance, Country/Port/Fee, and select Country File. For each of the Andean Treaty countries (Ecuador, Colombia, Peru and Bolivia), enter the country code, and then change the End Date for the SPI Code of J to 12/31/2008. Make sure there is only one J SPI Code listed per country. If you see two, delete the second one by blanking out the SPI Code field.

Once you have done that, go through your entries for the treaty exemption to take effect. Make sure you see the J in front of the tariff number, and transmit your entry.
