Final Rule on Mandatory AES

On June 2, the Census Bureau published the new Final Rule regarding the mandatory use of the Automated Export System and other changes in regulations. These changes will become effective on July 2, 2008.

ASCI of Miami's AES Procedures will ensure that you are in compliance with these new regulations. With our AES program, your export data is automatically transferred into the AES application. Our system verifies and then transmits the data directly to AES, so you don't have to re-key data fields on the AESDirect portal.

If you need to make a correction on AESDirect, you have to re-enter every field. Our system keeps your information on file, and allows you to re-transmit if necessary without wasting time making unnecessary keystrokes.

Save time and money by streamlining the reporting process and ensuring the accuracy of your data with ASCI's AES Procedures! For more information, please call Liz Farrat at (305) 554-1325.

Are You Registered to Vote?

The Florida International Trade Coalition is working this summer to ensure that those of us involved in the business of international trade are made aware of candidates' positions on issues that affect our industry. They are currently collaborating with the Miami-Dade County Elections office to set up voter registration drives so that everyone is ready to vote in the November election.

The FITC is also working on a web site to help you learn about how candidates have voted on trade issues, and we'll forward that information to you as soon as it is ready.

In the meantime, if you would like to sponsor a voter registration drive at your business, please call Liz Mastrapa at the ASCI Help Desk so that she can help connect you with the elections office.

10+2 Update

CBP has released the draft requirements for the 10+2 security filing, and our programmers are working on implementing these changes. While no deadline has been set, rest assured that your system will be ready to transmit as soon as they are ready. We'll keep you posted!
