ASCI E-Newsletter
November 2008

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away! It is the season of giving thanks, and we want to express our gratitude to our customers for continuing to provide us with valuable feedback on how to serve you better. In these difficult economic times, it's important to count our blessings, and we are grateful for your continued support.

CBP has been making some changes this month that you need to know about. Here's what's coming up:

Softwood Lumber (CSMS# 08-000288): The Canada Softwood Export Permit number will now be required for informal entry types 11 and 12 in addition to the original entry types. CBP has not implemented these changes as of their message on 10/31 but anticipated these to be enforced within 3-4 weeks. We are currently working on that modification.

Air In-Bond (CSMS# 08-000280): On November 22, ABI filers will be able to submit and/or modify In-Bond movements for Air AMS. We will have these new programs ready soon. If you are interested in purchasing this application, please give us a call.

Importer Security Filing/10+2 (CSMS# 08-000290): On November 3, CBP sent out revisions to the existing data set for the ISF 10+2 application. However, no target date has been announced as of 11/5. We are working on the programs to submit this data set and are currently in the testing phase with ABI. We are also developing a special ASCI Link Interface which will allow your customers to submit ISF requirements directly to your system via the internet. We will let you know as soon as the deadline is announced.

ASCI Goes Green! E-Mail Invoice Option

We are currently updating our invoicing system to allow us the option to print or e-mail the invoices for our monthly software support charges. If you are interested in signing up for electronic invoices, please send an e-mail to our Office Manager (yvo@asciofmiami.com). Make sure to include your Company Name, Contact Person, and Email Address where monthly maintenance invoices should be sent.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our office will be closed on November 27 and November 28 in celebration of Thanksgiving.

Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
