ISF Update: Postponed until July 12

As we've mentioned in past newsletters, ABI has made some changes to the ISF filings and they recently announced a delayed implementation date of July 12. In addition to the ABI changes, our programmers have also made some enhancements to the program in response to customer requests which will be available with the next ISF release.

We will begin installing these releases after July 12, but your account with ASCI must be current to proceed with the installation. In addition, it is important you have recently backed up your data files. If you have Accounts Payable, you also need to be sure to have posted all your current transactions and checks before we install the release.

For a brief description of the program enhancements, please click here. We also have a new version of the ISF Manual which we can e-mail to you when we install the release.

The ASCI office will be closed on July 3

The Importance of Doing Back-Ups

We all know how important it is to do back-ups of your data; after all, computers have a way of failing when you least expect them to. The best way to prevent a time-consuming project of re-entering lost data, is to have an in-house back-up plan to store your data.

One of our customers in Puerto Rico had a recent server crash that wiped out their hard drive and left them with nothing. Fortunately, they had installed a separate ASCI system on a laptop that was updated from the regular system on a weekly basis. When their server crashed, they immediately began working from the laptop until the new server was purchased and installed. They had no downtime and were able to stay productive throughout the transition.

If you use ASCI as a stand-alone system, take a few minutes this month to make sure your current back-up procedure is working properly. You may also want to check up on your server to make sure it's in good working order. After all, it's easier to replace a server that is still running than waiting for it to crash and lose days of work trying to set it up.

If you need assistance with this, our IT department can give you options that will work best for your company.
