The Importance
of Doing Back-Ups
We all know
how important it is to do back-ups of your data; after all, computers
have a way of failing when you least expect them to. The best
way to prevent a time-consuming project of re-entering lost data,
is to have an in-house back-up plan to store your data.
One of our
customers in Puerto Rico had a recent server crash that wiped
out their hard drive and left them with nothing. Fortunately,
they had installed a separate ASCI system on a laptop that was
updated from the regular system on a weekly basis. When their
server crashed, they immediately began working from the laptop
until the new server was purchased and installed. They had no
downtime and were able to stay productive throughout the transition.
If you use
ASCI as a stand-alone system, take a few minutes this month to
make sure your current back-up procedure is working properly.
You may also want to check up on your server to make sure it's
in good working order. After all, it's easier to replace a server
that is still running than waiting for it to crash and lose days
of work trying to set it up.
If you need
assistance with this, our IT department can give you options that
will work best for your company.
