VPN
Updates
As we reported
in our August newsletter, CBP sent out an e-mail regarding changes
to settings for users who connect to the CBP using a dynamic software
VPN client. These updates must be made before December 31.
We will be
contacting our clients to begin implementing these changes in
the coming weeks. Please note that this will require us to change
an internal file and will not change the way you initiate communications
with ABI.

CBP message
#09-000311 outlines changes in FDA regulatory authority over tobacco
products. There are several tobacco-related tariffs that now require
FDA Product Codes when filing an entry. As with the changes for
Chinese Tires, you will need to query these tariffs before processing
your entries to ensure accuracy.
For more information,
please refer to the CBP message which can be accessed by clicking

ACE Release - Jan
2010
Our developers
have been working with CBP to meet the transition dates outlined
for the transition to ACE from ACS. As an ASCI user, these changes
will not affect the way you use our system, and will only change
the way your data is transmitted to ABI. We are currently in the
testing phase and will let you know when it is time to update
your programs to comply with the new requirements.
