Software VPN Updates

We are now ready to begin doing updates to those customers who use the Cisco VPN Client, also known as Software VPN. This process has to be done for all computers in your office that use software VPN to connect to ABI. If you use more than one computer in your office to connect, you will not be able to connect to ABI until ALL computers have been updated. Therefore, please make sure that you allot ample time for our support personnel to complete this process for you.

BEFORE YOU CALL to schedule the update, please make sure of the following:

1) You are using the software version of the VPN. To verify, click on the Start menu in Windows, followed by All Programs. If you see a program that says Cisco VPN Client, then you use the software version.

2) Verify how many users have this program installed on their computers.

3) Make sure that every computer that we need to fix has PCAnywhere installed.

4) Ensure that you have a block of time where none of your employees will need to connect with CBP.

Once you are ready, call our support desk to begin the process!

New 7501 Forms

We will soon begin implementing the new Entry Summary forms for our customers in advance of the April 2010 deadline.

If you use pre-printed forms and need to re-order, please make sure you use the Apperson version of the form. ASCI will only support the format that is provided by Apperson.

If you are going to re-order forms soon, give us a call so that we can ensure you have the correct program installed.

November 11 (Veterans Day) is a CBP holiday. However, ASCI will remain open on that day.

Our office will be closed on November 26 and November 27 in celebration of Thanksgiving.

FDA Information

As you know, there are many changes coming up with FDA. Here are the issues that relate to ASCI software.

1) PREDICT/ITACS: See CSMS Message # 09-000315 for details. Basically the new Predict requirements will increase the number of "Affirmation of Compliance Codes" that need to be submitted during entry filing. Many of these codes (listed in the message) are part of your Compliance Types File, located in the OGA Files menu of Import Procedures File Maintenance. If you need these codes, you can enter them manually in that program, or you can contact us to upload the entire file for you.

2) Prior Notice Final Rule Implementation: ABI recently sent out the software requirements for the Prior Notice Final ruling which will be moved to production on January 13, 2010. Our programmers are working on those changes now.

3) Product Codes: FDA has also recently sent out a notice of changes in Product Codes via CSMS Message # 09-000337. Many of these changes will take place by November 30 so please be sure to check this message to see if it will affect you.

ISF Update: November 14

Once again, CBP has issued some minor changes to the filing requirements for the ISF. We are currently in the final stages of testing and will have these changes ready for you on that date. Changes include modifications to ISF Bond reporting, additions to Reference Qualifiers, and more.

Please do not contact us to receive these changes before November 14 as ABI will not be ready to receive them until then. We will have an update sheet with a complete summary of the changes at that time.
